The state enterprise Ukrpromvneshexpertisa believes that in September delivery of ferrous scrap to metal companies will grow by 9.8-13.7% MoM, or by 25-35 thousand tons, to 280-290 thousand tons.
“In August deliveries totaled 255 thousand tons. We expect that in September they will be on the level of 280-290 thousand tons”, the company deputy director Yuri Dobrovolsky remarked.
The reason of the increase is the desire of traders and procurers who have unsold stocks of scrap to sell it before prices drop.
As of September 1, scrap stocks totaled 130 thousand tons.
In October, according to the company, purchasing prices for scrap on the local market will decrease by 3.1% MoM, to 6250 UAH per ton. (Ukrainian metal)
