In January-July the St. Petersburg subsidiary of the First Cargo Company transported 171.3 thousand tons of scrap, up 1.5-fold YoY.
The company throughput in the segment increased by 60%, to 97.8 million ton-km.
“The increase of scrap transportation via Oktyabrskaya railroad has to do with the high demand for scrap on behalf of Severstal and NLMK enterprises on the basis of the good market situation”, the subsidiary director Pavel Sitalo said.
In particular, scrap transportation to Severstal increased 1.4-fold YoY, to 146 thousand tons, and to NLMK – 3.2-fold, to 21.3 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
