In January-March Russia exported 10.3 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 1.3% YoY.
Imports of steel pipes increased by 16.1% mostly due to the growth of supplies from CIS (by 37.2%).
According to the Federal Customs Service, ferrous exports were valued at $4.4 billion, up by 57.4%. Exports to far foreign countries decreased by 2%, to 8.94 million tons valued at $3.69 billion, while exports to CIS grew by 27.6%, to 1.36 million tons, valued at $704.6 million.
Steel pipes imports increased by 16.1%, to 140.6 thousand tons valued at $191.6 million. Supplies from far foreign countries dropped by 14.4%, to 41.7 thousand tons valued at $110.2 million, from CIS increased by 36.6%, to 98.9 thousand tons valued at $81.5 million. (Ukrainian metal)
