According to the Federal Service of State Statistics, in January-February Russia produced 8.8 million tons of steel and semi-finished products of unalloyed steel.
Pig iron output reached 8.5 million tons.
Russia also produced 8.8 million tons of rolled metal, up by 1% YoY. Steel pipes, sections and fittings production increased by 13.8%, to 0.951 million tons.
In February steel production increased by 4% YoY, but dropped by 4.5% MoM, rolled metal output decreased by 0.2% YoY and by 4% MoM. Pipe companies increased production by 2.1% MoM and by 7.8% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
