In 2016 Zaporizhstal delivered over 540 thousand tons of metal to its customers via river transport through the Zaporozhye river port.
River transportation allows the company to decrease logistics expenses and increase delivery speed.
“We have worked out a stable logistics model of river transportation. Now the state has to develop this method and create conditions to attract investments”, the company CEO Rostislav Shurma said.
The Dnepr navigation in 2016 at the Zaporozhye river port started on February 17, and ended on December 15.
Last year Zaporizhstal shipped some 700 thousand tons of metal by river. (Ukrainian metal)
