On October 10, the national nuclear energy-generating company Energoatom plans to buy 530.48 million UAH worth of equipment to repair refrigerators of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant. It plans to use welded pipes, which could lead to the second Chernobyl.

According to the Centravis Production Ukraine regional sales department director Denis Knyazhentsev, the company pipes are used on most of the CIS and Ukrainian nuclear and thermal power plants.

“We are the largest producer of stainless seamless pipes on the world market, and for nuclear and thermal industries in particular. Most of Ukrainian and CIS NPPs and TPPs use our pipes. We have a grand experience in production of such pipes. We can produce pipes, needed for Zaporozhye NPP. We need this order and believe that the state should support local producers. So we ask to change welded pipes to seamless pipes in the documentation”, he said. (Ukrainian metal)
