Companies dealing with ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, as well as other secondary materials have created the Ukrainian association of secondary metals and resources (UAVtormetresurs).
According to Euro-Metal Invest deputy CEO Valeri Katunin, the company was registered on July 18. It will be a non-profitable organization. It will deal with protecting interests of its members; cooperate with authorities in creating legislation base on scrap trade.
The association headquarters are situated in Kiev; its president is Andrei Andreichikov.
“Some 100 enterprises from across Ukraine decided to join the association. And what made them create the association was their helpless situation against authorities and no protection of their interests”, Katunin added.
It should be noted that Ukraine already has the Ukrainian association of secondary metals (UAVtormet) and Ukrainian association of scrap exporters (UAEM). (Ukrainian metal)
