One of the largest Ukrainian iron ore miners and concentrate producers – Vostok-Ruda hasn’t been paying for consumed electricity since April 2015. The company’s electricity debt is now 20.2 million UAH.

According to Ukrainian legislation, the works will be cut off from electricity supplies.

“DTEK Dnepooblenergo has been warning the company management and the local authorities about the debt since May till December 2015. But the debt was not cleared”, said the power-company in its statement.

In August 2015 it had to partially cut Vostok-Ruda off from electricity and in December it cut it off completely. Only after that Vostok-Ruda paid 400 thousand UAH, or 20% of its monthly consumption. (Ukrainian metal)
