Ukraine: metal companies in Deloitte’s list

According to Deloitte’s list of 500 largest Central European companies in 2014, Interpipe received 14.5 million euro of net profit, though it finished 2013 with 55.2 million euro of losses. Interpipe’s income last year fell by 32.5%, to 770.5 million euro, which landed the company on place 274 from 160.

The leader of Ukrainian metal companies remains the same – Metinvest. The company lost only 2 positions and finished on place 6. The group’s profit fell by 59.9%, to 118 million euro, while its income decreased by 18.5%, to 7.83 billion euro.

ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih went back 3 steps, to place 59. Last year the company returned to profits – 1.62 billion euro, though its income fell by 13.6%, to 2.29 billion euro.

Zaporizhstal rushed into the list and landed on place 120. Its profit in 2014 reached 299.8 million euro, with income growing by 8.1%, to 388 million euro.

Ferrexpo fell from place 149 to 182, with its profits decreasing by 31.2%, to 136.4 million euro, and income – by 13.3%, to 1.03 billion euro.

The most drastic fall was shown by Donetskstal Group – from 129 to 330. It should be noted that all the group’s assets are situated in the terrorists-controlled territories. In 2014 the company lost 304.1 million UAH, with its income was halved to 662.7 million euro.

Evraz Sukhaya Balka went slightly up in the list – from place 486 to 406. Its profits increased by 34.8%, to 52.2 million euro, while its income grew by 9.9%, to 540 million euro.

Another newcomer to the list is the Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant, which has landed on place 458. In 2014 its profits jumped 2.55 times, to 20.1 million euro, while its income increased by 37.9%, to 495.9 million euro.

Yuzhny Mining and Processing Works, that in 2013 occupied place 237 with 303.1 million euro of profits and 864.8 million euro of income, fell out of the list. (Ukrainian metal)
