Ukraine: non-ferrous metals export-import down in Q1 2015

In January-June Ukraine imported $21.69 million worth of copper and copper wares, down by 43.2% YoY, with exports on the level of $71.39 million, down by 10.9%.

In June Ukraine imported $4.62 million worth of copper and copper wares, while exports reached $12.21 million.

In addition nickel and nickel wares imports fell by 41.7%, to $52.43 million ($10.14 in June), aluminum and wares – by 30.6%, to $124.48 million ($25.48), tin and tin wares – by 57.7%, to $1.18 million ($184 thousand), lead and wares – by 75.7%, to $1.14 million ($115 thousand), and zinc and zinc wares imports decreased by 21.8%, to $15.95 million ($3.91 million in June), all YoY.

At the same time, aluminum and aluminum wares exports decreased by 7%, to $59.42 million ($12.1 million in June), nickel and nickel wares – by 90.7%, to $1.2 million ($262 thousand), while lead and lead wares exports went up by 11.3%, to $12.75 million ($2.56 million in June).

Tin and tinware exports totaled $1 thousand (with no export in January and March-June), while in the first half of 2014 Ukraine exported $76 thousand worth of tin and wares. (Ukrainian Metal)
