In 2014 Ukrainian metal companies exported 24.3 million tons of metal products, down by 7.6% YoY, worth $12.6 billion, down by 11.3% YoY.
In particular, Ukraine exported 20.24 million tons of rolled metal (including 9.2 million tons of semi-finished products), 2.2 million tons of pig iron, 900 thousand tons of ferroalloys, down by 13%, 3% and up by 27% YoY respectively.
Export share in the total volume of rolled metal produced increased to 85% from 80% in 2013, with 45% being semi-finished products.
At the same time steel sheets, semis and long rolled products exports fell by 8%, 16% and 12% YoY respectively.
Metal export to CIS countries decreased by 29%, from 4.7 million tons to 3.4 million tons, including to Russia – by 27%, from 3.4 million to 2.5 million tons. CIS share in the geographical structure of exports decreased from 18% to 14%, including Russia’s share – from 13% to 10%. (Ukrainian metal)
