In January-May Ukrainian metal companies produced 12.9 million tons of steel, down by 7% YoY.
In the given period rolled metal output also decreased by 7%, to 11.38 million tons, while that of pig iron fell by 1%, to 12.01 million tons.
Coke manufacture dropped by 3%, to 7.15 million tons, while at the same time companies produced 614 thousand tons of pipes, down by 14% YoY.
In 2014 Ukrainian metal companies plan to produce 34.5 million tons of steel, up by 5.6%, 30.5 million tons of rolled metal, up by 5%, and 30 million tons of pig iron, up by 3.1%, all YoY.
In 2013 Ukraine produced 32.684 million tons of steel, up by 1%, 29.03 million tons of rolled metal (on the same level) and 29.11 million tons of pig iron, up by 2%, all YoY. At the same time pipes output fell by 20%, to 1.615 million tons, while coke output decreased by 7.1%, to 17.596 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
