It is reported that Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant (DEMZ) in January increased its steel smelting volume four times compared to the same period of last year to 88,600 tons.
DEMZ has continued to increase its hot-rolled steel product output both from its own steel as well as from steel bars supplied by Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works within the framework of DEMZ strategic partnership with Russian steel producer Mechel of which Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works is a subsidiary.
In January DEMZ shipped about 10,000 tons of high quality rolled products of alloy steel to European and US markets. In February DEMZ plans to smelt more than 82,500 tons of steel and to produce about 15,000 tons of commercial grade rolled steel products. (SteelOrbis)
