It is reported that Ukrainian government commission for international trade prolongs the term for antidumping investigation on ferroalloys imports for 60 days. The investigation is not related to a particular country of origin or export.
The investigation was started in February this year by the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloys Producers and was initiated by all three Ukrainian producers of ferroalloys: Nikopol Ferroalloys Plant, Zaporozhye Ferroalloys Plant and Stakhanov Ferroalloys Plant.
The subject of investigation is ferrosilicomanganese and ferromanganese with carbon content over 2% except for the ferromanganese in fraction not over than 5 mm and having manganese content over 65% by mass.
The claimer noticed that since Q3 2008 till Q3 2009 import of ferroalloys to Ukraine grew by 219% while its consumption in the country dropped by 59% and import prices reduced by 38% and became lower than at local producers. As the result, local ferroalloys production reduced by 15%, sales fell by 67%, undistributed stocks grew by 45%. (Rusmet)
