According to the preliminary data, issued by the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in the first seven months of the current year Ukraine registered a 12% YoY in its finished steel product output to 16.709 million tons and a 13% rise in its crude steel output to 18.764 million tons.
In January to July this year, Ukraine saw an 11% YoY increase in its pig iron production to 15.872 million tons and an 8.5% YoY growth in its coke output to 10.698 million tons. In addition, during the period in question the country’s production of steel pipes went up by 2% YoY to 913,800 tons while its output of hardware increased by 22.9% YoY to 151,200 tons.
In its iron ore segment, in January to July this year Ukraine mined 44.987 million tons of iron ore up by 31.1% YoY. Its iron ore concentrate production increased by 30.1% YoY to 37.21 million tons, its agglomerate production went up by 14.8% YoY to 22.74 million tons while its pellet production rose by 20.5% YoY to 13.116 million tons.
