Reuters reported that Ukrainian steel maker Azovstal’s crude steel production in H1 went up by 52.6% YoY to 2.872 million tons compared with the same period in 2009.
The company said in a statement, it had also raised pig iron output by 53% to 2.464 million tons and increased rolled steel production by 52.2% to 2.678 million tons.
Azovstal produced 484,300 tons of crude steel in June compared with 510,400 in May. The production of pig iron fell to 423,300 tons from 437,800 tons in May, while output of rolled steel decreased to 438,600 tons from 485,000 tons a month earlier. (Reuters)
