It is reported that the government of the Russian Federation has charged Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry of Foreign Affairs to negotiate with the Ukrainian side on the settlement of the duty free supply of certain types of steel pipes up to a certain quota from Ukraine.
As of April 1st 2010, Russia has stopped duty free imports of Ukrainian pipes in the absence of agreed quotas for supplies not subject to antidumping duty payment for the second quarter of the current year.
According to Interfax-Ukraine news agency, for 2010 Ukraine proposes to settle a quota in the amount of 300,000 tons of pipes while the Russian position is 223,000 tons. (SteelOrbis)
