According to the data issued by the Ukrainian Association of Metal Traders, in January to February Ukraine steel trading companies increased their steel product purchases by 3.9% YoY to 164,775 tons including 151,363 tons from local mills and 13,412 tons of imports.
The main domestic suppliers of steel products to Ukrainian trading companies were ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, Zaporizhstal and Azovstal, with the deliveries in January-February amounting to 31,890 tons, 28,548 tons and 26,972 tons respectively.
During the first two months of 2010, according to the purchased volumes, the leading Ukrainian steel traders were Metinvest-SMC, Ukrainian Mining and Metallurgical Company and MD-Group.
In February Ukraine steel trading companies increased their steel product purchases by 8% MoM to 85,583 tons including 78,846 tons from local mills and 6,737 tons of imports. (SteelOrbis)
