It is reported that in 2009 tube and pipe import to Ukraine reduced by 61.4% as compared to 2008 to 39,410 tons.
The cost of tube imports in 2009 reduced by 64.8% to $78.39 million.
The structure of Ukrainian tube and pipe import was as follows:
1. Seamless pipes import is reduced by 49.8% to 25,840 tons.
2. Pipes of diameter over 406.4 mm – down by 73.1% to 4,200 tons.
3. Tubes and hollow sections – down by 73.3% to 9,370 tons.
It is also worth to remark that steel tubes and pipes export in 2009 dropped as well when compared to 2008 by 23.8% to 1.378 million tons for $1.398 billion.
Output of tubes and pipes in Ukraine reduced by 33.9% to 1.564 million tons in 2009 in comparison to 2008. (Minprom)
