Ukraine: AMKR suspends production due to Russian missile strike

PJSC “ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih” was hit by a missile strike from Russia on the night of August 16, as a result of which two people were killed and 13 more employees of the enterprise and contractors were injured.

“As a result of the attack, the main production facilities of energy and blast furnace production were damaged and the production processes of the plant were partially stopped. Currently, relevant specialists are assessing the extent of the damage and the possibilities and timing of restoration,” the AMKR report states.

The company reported that an emergency response plan had been put into effect. Firefighters, labor protection department employees, rescuers, and medical workers were involved in eliminating the consequences of the attack.

AMKR recalled that in 2022 the enterprise suffered a devastating missile strike: then the long-rolling shop was destroyed and an employee died.

“We emphasize that our enterprise is a civilian facility of the mining and metallurgical industry, and we strongly condemn such insidious enemy attacks,” the company noted. (Minprom)
