Ukraine: Government approves protocol decision on “SkhidGOK” functioning

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, at its meeting, at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, adopted a protocol decision on problematic issues of the functioning of the state enterprise “SkhidGOK”, which were discussed during the visit of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal to the Dnipro region and the inspection of the production capacities of the enterprise.

According to Denys Shmyhal, a number of steps are planned to be implemented to improve the state enterprise “SkhidGOK” together with the State Property Fund and NNEGC “Energoatom”:

First, to provide the enterprise with sulfuric acid for its production needs.

Second, to resolve the problem of debt to “Energoatom”, it is advisable to review the terms of existing contracts.

Third, to update and modernize the enterprise’s production capacities, consider the possibility of Energoatom covering the costs of the state enterprise “SkhidGOK” through advance payments.

“Our goal is to stabilize and strengthen a strategic enterprise, the functioning of which is necessary for the future of our nuclear energy industry and for the energy security of Ukraine,” Denys Shmyhal emphasized. (Energy Ministry)
