In early April, it is planned to resume the operation of the mining and processing complexes of the state enterprise “Skidny Mining and Processing Plant”. This is stated in the Facebook post of the state-owned enterprise.
As noted, the implementation of relevant preparatory measures was discussed at an operational meeting in the format of a videoconference under the chairmanship of the acting general director of the enterprise Oleksiy Hladky with the participation of mine managers and chief specialists of the plant.
The long pause in uranium ore mining operations occurred due to the blocking of the company’s accounts since January. After the entry into force (in March) of the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Restoration of the Solvency of Certain State-Owned Enterprises in the Energy Sector That Are in Critical Condition,” the company was able to continue production activities.
The plant used the forced pause to carry out large-scale repair work.
During this period, repairs were carried out at the Novokostyantynivska mine on self-propelled equipment, a car dumper, and a lifting complex on the Vent-1 shaft, as well as repairs to the rail track in the mine.
At the Ingulska mine, repairs were carried out on the water drainage system, the lifting complex on the Pivnichny shaft, and repairs to the exchange and crushing complexes. Work was carried out to repair the pumping equipment and underground rail track.
During the meeting, Oleksiy Hladky noted the importance of the preparatory work carried out by the mine teams and emphasized that the management of SkhidGOK had now taken the necessary measures to resume mining and processing operations.
During the discussion, the mine managers Vadim Raksha and Yevhen Khvorostovsky focused on priority issues that required increased attention from the plant management to resume production and achieve planned mining performance. (Nadra)
