British mining company Anglo Asian Mining (AAM), which specializes in developing gold deposits in Azerbaijan, has achieved cumulative production of over 1 million gold-equivalent ounces since the launch of its mines in the country.
AAM commenced gold and silver extraction using heap leaching technology from ore mined at the Gadabay open pit mine in 2009. Last year, following its expansion strategy, Anglo Asian Mining launched its new Gilar underground copper-gold mine and the Demirli open pit copper mine.
“As of the end of January 2026, cumulative production since the start of operations in 2009 has exceeded 1 million gold equivalent ounces. This includes approximately 851,000 ounces of gold, 1.9 million ounces of silver, and over 30,000 tons of copper,” the company said in a statement.
Anglo Asian Mining also expects a threefold increase in copper production in 2026, driven by the expansion of the Gilar and Demirli mines.
In 2025, AAM extracted 25,061 ounces of gold, 153,332 ounces of silver, and 7,915 tons of copper.
AAM plans to produce between 28,000 and 33,000 ounces of gold in 2026. Silver production this year is projected to be between 170,000 and 210,000 ounces, and copper production between 20,000 and 25,000 tons. (Report)
