Ukraine: Poland supplies most coke in January-November 2025

In January-November 2025, Ukraine increases imports of coke and semi-coke by 3.2% YoY, to 642.8 thousand tons.

Almost all coke was supplied from Poland – the country’s share reached 94%.

According to the State Customs Service, Ukraine imported 602.01 thousand tons of coke from Poland, 27.67 thousand tons from Indonesia and 13.06 thousand tons from the Czech Republic.

In 2013-2014, coking coal production in Ukraine decreased by 74% and coke manufacture by almost 85%. This was due to most mines and by-product coke enterprises remaining on the Russia-occupied territories – around 64%.

To maintain the current level of production – 6.5 million tons of steel and 1.3 million tons of pig iron – Ukraine needs around 3.2 million tons of coke per year. (Ukrainian Metal)
