Uzbekistan: digitalization of Almalyk pumping station to help use water rationally

Rational use of water and reliable water supply are some of the key tasks for industrial enterprises. In the context of increasing consumption and stricter environmental requirements, the modernization of pumping stations is of particular importance.

In the near future, pumping station No. 54 of the industrial water supply department at the Almalyk Mining and Processing Works, which supplies technical water for the plant’s technological processes, will be updated. Modern automation and digital visualization systems will be installed there.

Ten operating pumping units will be equipped with control and measuring devices and automation, and a monitoring system will be introduced. It will allow real-time monitoring of the condition of pumps and electric motors, quickly identify leaks and damage to pipelines, control the temperature of bearings and prevent overheating.

Thanks to these changes, the operation of the station will become more stable and reliable, operating and energy costs will decrease, and maintenance will become easier. All processes will be displayed and controlled via digital panels, which will increase overall efficiency and help the company to be even more careful with water resources. (MetalPortal)
