In January-September, Karaganda region’s short-term economic indicator made 113.1%, with the industrial output reaching 2.8 trillion tenge, governor of the region Yermaganbet Bulekpayev said at a briefing at the Central Communications Office.
According to Yermaganbet Bulekpayev, production output in the region’s processing sector has exceeded 2.2 trillion tenge, largely, due to the modernization of Qarmet, the region’s major enterprise.
He reminded that the owner of the plant changed last year, at the President’s instruction.
“We made the right decision by inviting domestic investor,” said the Head of State when visiting the enterprise.
Cast-iron, steel and flat-rolled products manufacture at the plant increased from 11% to 21%, he added.
Only three in eight mines were operating at Qarmet at the time of transfer of the plant to the new investor. Seven mines have already resumed their work.
The Tentekskaya mine is staying idle due to the construction of a new service shaft. A new system of search and positioning in the Kazakhstanskaya and Kuzembayeva mines was introduced. The company plans to introduce it in all its mines. (Kazinform)
