The Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers has asked the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development and Ukrzaliznytsia to decrease railroad tariffs.
Nikopol Ferroalloys Plant receives raw materials from Marganets Mining and Processing Works. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, the direct railroad distance between the two was 20 km.
Since July 2022 the region of this railroad was included in the list of territorial communities situated in the military activity zone.
The distance increased from 20 km to 442 km, while the cost of transportation grew from 7 UAH to 400 UAH per ton. (Ukrainian metal)
