In January-June, Ukraine exported 833 thousand tons of flat rolled metal, up by 96.9% YoY, and 906 thousand tons of semi-finished steel products, up by 57%.
Exports of bars and sections amounted to 257 thousand tons, remaining unchanged.
Domestic steel consumption grew by 7.8%, to 1.74 million tons, of which imports accounted for 592.4 thousand tons.
Ukraine imported 474.3 thousand tons of flat rolled metal, up by 21.5%, and 108.4 thousand tons of bars, up by 9.1%. Imports of semi-finished steel products amounted to 9700 tons, up from 5100 tons last year.
The main export markets were the EU countries (77.1%), followed by other European states (6.9%) and Africa (6.4%), while the main suppliers were other European states (46.5%), EU-27 (31%) and Asia (20.5%). (Ukrainian metal)
