The Ukrainian pipe industry is categorically against making enterprises import 80% of their electricity consumption.
The Ukrtruboprom CEO Georgiy Polskiy says the electricity import capacities in Ukraine are limited – they total just 1.7 GW, while only the mining and metal complex needs more. Thus, according to him, electricity imports will not cover the needs of the entire Ukrainian industry.
“At the same time, making enterprises import 80% of electricity will result in the sharp increase in electricity prices, which will in turn lead to the growth of industrial product cost,” he said. (Ukrainian metal)
