Ukraine: pipe industry against increasing electricity import norms

The Ukrainian pipe industry is categorically against making enterprises import 80% of their electricity consumption.

The Ukrtruboprom CEO Georgiy Polskiy says the electricity import capacities in Ukraine are limited – they total just 1.7 GW, while only the mining and metal complex needs more. Thus, according to him, electricity imports will not cover the needs of the entire Ukrainian industry.

β€œAt the same time, making enterprises import 80% of electricity will result in the sharp increase in electricity prices, which will in turn lead to the growth of industrial product cost,” he said. (Ukrainian metal)
