In 2023, Metinvest increased metal exports to Poland by 16%.
The increase was due to the unblocking of roads, but the throughput in ports and border crossing are still bottlenecks.
“2023 was a bit better for us than the previous year. There were no such congestions and queues on the Polish railroad, which improved transportation efficiency. We transported 1.9 million tons via Polish ports and railroad, of which 1.3 million tons of metal products, 378 thousand tons of iron ore and 237 thousand tons of coking coal,” Metinvest logistics department head Yuliya Mezentseva said.
Of this amount, 939 thousand tons were exported to other countries via Polish ports.
“Coal, needed for the operation of our metal plants in Ukraine, were also transported via Polish ports,” she said. (Ukrainian metal)
