Ukraine: PGOK board chairman arrested

Pecherskiy Court of Kyiv has arrested Victor Lotous, Poltava Mining and Processing Works board chairman, with an alternative of a bail of UAH 999.991 million.

PGOK belongs to Konstantin Zhevago. A claim has also been sent to extract Zhevago from France.

According to investigation, the enterprise was selling crushed stone made of ferruginous quartzites waste. The company only had a license to extract quartzites, with an obligation to store crushed stone at special places.

In 2015-2021, more than 20 million cubic meters of the minerals were extracted and the amount of damage to the state was estimated at over UAH 157 billion. (Ukrainian metal)
