Managers of a mining and processing works have created an illegal scheme of using natural resources valued at 157 billion UAH, the National Police report without naming the enterprise.
According to sources, this is Poltava Mining and Processing Works, belonging to Kostyantyn Zhevaho.
The police have found out that the enterprise has the license to extract ferruginous quartzites only.
Thus, their wastes had to be stored in special warehouses. But the enterprise, without a corresponding license, processed them and sold the crushed stone made of them to various companies.
At the same time, wastes of ferruginous quartzites are considered natural resources of the national importance. The company had to obtain a license for their use. Until 2015, PGOK had such a license.
In 2015-2021, PGOK illegally extracted more than 20 million cubic meters of natural resources and the amount of damage to the state was estimated at 157 billion UAH. (Ukrainian metal)
