Ukraine: flat rolled metal export down in July 2023

In July, Ukraine decreased flat rolled metal exports by 22.6% MoM, to 95.2 thousand tons. In monetary terms exports have decreased by 25.3%, to $70.35 million.

According to the State Customs Service, compared with July 2022 exports grew by 84.8% and by 55.6% respectively.

In January-July, Ukraine exported 517.7 thousand tons of flat rolled metal valued at $378.6 million, down by 62.3% and by 67.4% YoY respectively.

Hot-rolled flat metal without coating accounted for 380.2 thousand tons valued at $264.85 million over 7 months, with 67.9 thousand tons exported in July valued at $45.5 million, down by 23.8% and by 30.3% MoM respectively.

Ukraine also exported 104 thousand tons of cold-rolled flat metal without coating for $73.1 million, with 14.4 thousand tons (-40.5% MoM) valued at $11.1 million (-38.3%) in June.

Exports of galvanized flat metal reached 32.6 thousand tons for $39.5 million. In July, Ukraine increased exports by 31.8%, to 12.4 thousand tons valued at $13.3 million, up by 23%.

The largest consumers of hot-rolled flat metal without coating were Poland (52% in monetary equivalent) and Bulgaria (16.1%). Poland (32.8%), Bulgaria (19.9%) and Portugal (8.8%) consumed more than 60% of cold-rolled flat metal without coating. And the main consumers of galvanized flat metal were Poland (74.5%) and Romania (19.9%). (Ukrainian metal)
