The Svyato-Varvarinskaya Processing Factory, a part of Metinvest and Pokrovvuhillya, has finished reconstructing its flotation department with increasing the high-quality products output.
The modernization lasted for four years.
The precondition for the reconstruction was the change in the coal contents. The number of lower classes of coal began growing. It was impractical and expensive to throw such coal away, taking into account the cost of the concentrate. Thus it was decided to reconstruct the manufacture to use the smallest parts of coal.
It was necessary to increase the flotation department. At first, two additional flotation columns were installed, then a new hyperbaric filter and a number of compressors, and finally two more columns.
“The column flotation to process coal is nowhere else used in Ukraine. One of its advantages is small manufacturing size. Traditional flotation machines have a very large size, while the column machines are high. The practice shows that they are more energy-efficient. They don’t use any rotating mechanisms and only need air and water for operation,” the factory manufacturing director Olexiy Bobyr has said.
Now that the new machinery is up and running, the enterprise intends to increase coal output. (Ukrainian metal)
