In October, Ukraine exported 1.07 million tons of iron ore, down by 21.1% MoM and by 70.9% YoY. According to the customs statistics, in monetary terms exports have dropped by 25.1% MoM and by 72.4% YoY, to $102.6 million.
In January-October, Ukraine exported 22.44 million tons of iron ore valued at $2.77 billion, down by 38.9% and by 56.2% YoY respectively.
In January-April, exports totaled 12.98 million tons, that is 3.2 million tons per month on average. In May-October, exports amounted to 9.46 million tons, or 1.58 million tons per month.
Slovakia bought the most ore – 19.16%, followed by Poland with 16.65% and the Czech Republic with 16.32%. Thus, since the start of the Russian invasion, European countries have become the main purchasers of iron ore from Ukraine having displaced China, the largest importer at the beginning of the year.
