Ukraine: ferroalloys output down in January-May 2022

In January-May, Ukraine produced 269.4 thousand tons of ferroalloys, down by 24.9% YoY.

According to the Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers, silicomanganese output dropped by 9.3%, to 235.1 thousand tons, ferromanganese – by 73.7%, to 17 thousand tons, ferrosilicon – by 52.7%, to 15.4 thousand tons, and metallic manganese – by 43.5%, to 1.35 thousand tons.

Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant decreased manufacture by 13.6%, to 224.5 thousand tons, and Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant – by 42.8%, to 45 thousand tons.

Pokrovskiy (PGOK) and Marganetsk (MGOK) Mining and Processing Works in 5 months together produced 504.8 thousand tons of manganese concentrate, down by 23.9%, with MGOK accounting for 210.76 thousand tons (+0.2%) and PGOK – 294.1 thousand tons (-35.1%).

PGOK also produced 29.5 thousand tons of iron ore concentrate, down by 77.5%. (Ukrainian metal)
