ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and Ukrzaliznytsia intend to jointly look for ways to increase metal and iron ore raw materials exports in the situation when the seaports are blocked by Russia.
“We understand, that Ukrzaliznytsia capacities are not enough to provide for transportation of all our export cargo. Moreover, the throughput capacity on the border is a bottleneck, which complicates exports. In our case, the iron ore concentrate volumes, which we can export, are decreasing,” AMKR logistics director Andrei Myagkov has said.
The company is working with Ukrzaliznytsia to increase shipping volumes.
“Together with Ukrzaliznytsia we will look for ways out of these difficult circumstances. Laying European railroad to integrate into European system will significantly simplify logistics for exporters,” he added. (Ukrainian metal)
