Metinvest has started preparing the construction site for the new shop to produce cold-rolled metal, galvanized and painted coils at the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.
Investments in the project will exceed $1 billion.
The length of the shop will be 750 meters and width – 140 meters.
The construction will be carried out in two stages and completed in 2028.
When the first stage is completed in 2025, the company will be producing 1.2 million tons of highly competitive cold-rolled and galvanized metal, as well as metal with polymer coating. The capacity of the cold-rolled coil manufacture will be over 400 thousand tons, galvanized coils – 600 thousand tons and polymer-coated coils – 140 thousand tons.
After the second stage, the capacity will exceed 1.6 million tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)
