ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, the biggest mining and steel plant in Ukraine, will all its employees a bonus based on the results of work in the previous year. The so-called “13th salary” will be paid in full on March 11. Besides, in 2021, the company’s management is considering the possibility of differentiated increase of salaries of its employees. In this regard, the management of the company is negotiating with the trade unions at the local and central levels.
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is the only company in mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine, which pays the 13th salary to its employees annually. The bonus for each employee’s performance during the year is based on average salary for actual hours worked. This year, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih will allocate about UAH 415 million to pay the 13th salary.
Mauro Longobardo, CEO, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih: “Despite all the challenges of 2020, which the industry has never met before, in the context of pandemic and the associated restrictions, our people remain the main value for ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih. It was very important to keep the number of the employees and ensure the stability of all payments to them. Even in the conditions of an acute crisis in 2020, the average wage in the company increased by 5.5% and amounted to UAH 19 062. This is 24% higher than the average wage in Ukraine and 10% higher than in iron and steel industry”.
At the end of 2020, the level of salaries at iron and steel industry’s enterprises (UAH 17.3 thousand) traditionally significantly exceeded the average in Ukraine (UAH 11.5 thousand). (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
