In 2019, following a large-scale reconstruction in the blast furnace and oxygen-converter shops, Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works decreased pig iron output by 8% and steel by 7% YoY.
Bars sales dropped by 8%, while shapes grew by 2% and rails – by 15%. Mechel rails sales, without deliveries to RZD and for exports, increased 2-fold.
Flat rolled metal sales decreased by 7%, while stainless steel – went up 2.5-fold.
Metal wares sales fell by 9%.
Mechel decreased forged products sales by 9%, and stamping products – by 25%. (Ukrainian metal)
