Russian Copper Company plans to raise annual investment in its copper smelter Karabashmed by 55%, to 5 billion rubles in 2019, President Vsevolod Levin has reported.
“Within 15 years of work at Karabashmed, we have invested more than 22 billion rubles in the development and improvement of environmental safety of the copper smelting production. Regarding investment in 2020, it amounts to about 5 billion rubles of current and capital investment in Karabash’s city-forming enterprise. It is a 55% increase as compared with 2019,” he said.
The major project at the plant is increase of the production capacity to 230,000 tons of blister copper per year and organization of the anode facility with a capacity of 265,000 tons per year, he said. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
