Severstal-Metiz has supplied strands for the construction of the Moscow subway Big Ring Line.
In late 2019 a mechanized blade shield named Victoria with the weight of 870 tons and the diameter of 10 meters was commissioned in the subway. This was the first descent of the assembled shield in the history of the Moscow subway. Previously such shields were brought underground in parts and assembled on the spot.
The shield was lowered with the help of a bundle of reinforcement strands with the diameter of 18 mm, produced by Severstal-Metiz.
The company is the only producer of such strands in Russia. All the strands were manufactured in a week. (Ukrainian metal)
