Ukraine: Metinvest spends $1.2 billion on Mariupol Ilyich development

In 7 years Metinvest has invested $1.2 billion in the development of Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.

In particular, $408.5 million were spent on ecological projects, and $757 million on the capital construction, reconstruction and repairs.

One of the largest projects was the construction of a continuous casting machine No. 4 in the converter shop together with the ladle furnace and gas-purification unit, as well as the reconstruction of the hot-rolling mill-1700.

Both projects have been implemented by Primetals Technologies. The CCM cost $150 million and the mill-1700 reconstruction – $100 million. (Ukrainian metal)
