The Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) is taking part in the international real estate investment forum PROEstate 2019.
The company will present to potential partners a unique project to transform urban space called “Attraction”, initiated by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of MMK Viktor Rashnikov.
The project is the first of its kind in Russia and aims to create a comfortable urban environment at a qualitatively new level along 400 hectares of land owned by MMK. The area will include state-of-the-art facilities for sports, as well as medical, educational, museum and cultural activities. Here the city’s residents and visitors will be able to relax, play sports, and receive high-quality medical care.
Construction is scheduled to begin in 2020. The first stage of the project will include an implementation period of five years, which envisions the creation of a nucleus for further formation of the territory on an area of more than 220 hectares. The project includes plans to build a museum and educational complex, a medical center, a sports cluster and a landscaped park area. The museum and educational complex will include a science museum for adults and children, a museum on the history of metallurgy and the metallurgical plant, exhibition spaces with permanent and temporary exhibits, a library, a lecture hall, a research center, industrial laboratories and art workshops.
The facilities of the sports and event cluster will include indoor and outdoor playgrounds for game sports, a fitness center, a 50-meter swimming pool, an ice arena, numerous hiking, cross-country skiing and cycling routes, and an adventure sports complex.
The new multi-disciplinary medical center will accommodate facilities for both high-tech medical care and rehabilitation. Highly qualified specialists will be specifically trained and offered opportunities to work at the center. The park complex will be arranged on the territory of more than 160 hectares. The territory will include an area for family leisure activities with footpaths, gazebos, playgrounds and water features; an area for active recreation, including amusement rides; and spaces for cultural and sporting events, as well as a nature park. The entire territory area will be united by a common landscape design. The project will provide a qualitatively new level of education and recreation, as well as access to medical services and sports facilities for residents and visitors. The project planners envision that several million people will visit the multifunctional park every year.
Such a large-scale project provides businesses with good opportunities to capitalize on traffic to the area by selling related products and providing various services. The constructed facilities of the multifunctional park will contribute to job creation in industries engaged in the maintenance of the park and its facilities — including cleaning services, security, museum affairs, landscape design and others.
The space of the park is planned to be commercialized through the placement of street trade and services. In addition, business opportunities will be provided in all the main buildings of the project, the total area of which will amount to about 100 thousand square meters.
MMK’s large-scale project to develop the “Attraction” urban environment creates new opportunities for business development. New business projects can be developed in such areas as education, children’s entertainment, catering, event organization and hosting, equipment rental, and the sale of sporting and other goods.
