Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works has shut down one of its three blast furnaces for capital repairs.
The repair is scheduled to be completed this year.
The modernization will decrease harmful emissions by 42 tons per year.
The design capacity of the blast furnaces at ChMK is 4 million tons of pig iron per year. (Ukrainian metal)
