Ukraine: AMKR best employer of mining and steelmaking complex

The first major international research Randstad Employer Brand Research 2019 was held in Ukraine to study employers’ attractiveness. Its results have proved that ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is the most attractive employer within steelmaking and mining industry in Ukraine. The company was presented with a certificate in Kyiv at the First awards ceremony for the most attractive employers of Ukraine arranged by Randstad international holding group and ANKOR holding group.

Randstad Employer Brand Research award goes to the winner based on the results of independent research. In each country at least 7 thousand respondents – representatives of employed and unemployed citizens – take survey thus selecting the winner among the companies with the biggest number of permanent staff. A company that gets the biggest rating is considered to be the most attractive to work at.

ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih is the major employer in Kriviy Rih and Dnipropetrovsk region. There are about 30,000 employees at the company, its subsidiaries and contractors. The company remains in the top three leaders on salary level among the companies of steelmaking and mining complex. Salary rate was reviewed several times in 2018 within the change of compensation system and planned salary raises in May and October. It was raised by 25% to 40% for many professions. From May 1, the company will raise the salary of all its employees and employees of its subsidiaries by 15% on average and up to 20% for certain professions. ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and its subsidiaries annually pay 13-month salary to the employees based on the previous year performance. In March, UAH 300 million was allocated for this purpose.

Moreover, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will keep its social programs for the employees and their families. Last year, the company invested UAH 432.7 million in the social sphere. This money was allocated for recreation and medical treatment of the employees and their families, support for its own health-care center, voluntary health insurance, as well as investment and repair of social and welfare facilities, social projects and payments.
