Ukraine: AMKR raising employees’ salary

From May 1, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, the biggest company of mining and metallurgical complex of Ukraine, is raising salaries of all its employees and employees of its subsidiaries by 15% on average and for certain professions – up to 20%.

Last year, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih raised the salary twice – in May and October. In addition, the company raised the salary of the major part of employees within transition to multi-level remuneration system. As the result, average salary at ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih increased by 43.4% in the period from November 2017 to December 2018. The salary of the main process personnel engaged in the main production processes increased even more. Moreover, this week the company’s employees got a 13-month salary and it was announced that the salary would be raised by 15% on average from May.

Yuliya Chermazovich, acting Director of HR Department, ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih: “We revise salary level every year taking into account the performance during the year. It was a challenging year from the point of production and financial results. Nonetheless, the company’s management decided to support the employees in such a difficult social and economic situation in Ukraine. The amount of raise was determined based on the results of negotiations with trade unions and considering previous salary raises. We hope that this year we will achieve all set objectives together – provide for sustainable operation of the plant and fulfillment of investment program, improve our financial indicators that are important for further salary raises as well”.
