Zaporizhstal has already settled 60% of its environment issues.
“In 6 years, having invested 10.6 billion UAH in modernization, we have completed major environment projects – assembled new exhaust systems at the sintering machine and blast furnaces, as well as constructed and commissioned a new rolling line”, the company capital construction and investments director Alexei Lebedev said.
What is left is the largest and the most expensive of projects – the modernization of steel-making capacities.
“We need an oxygen-converter shop, and we have made a lot to get it. But a wish only is not enough. We still need billions of investments”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
