ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has started supplying its metal products for the reconstruction of H-31 Dnipro-Tsarychanka-Kobelyaki-Reshetylovka highway in Poltava region.
This is one of the most large-scale infrastructure projects in Ukraine. Since the end of 2018, the company has already shipped about 90 tons of rebar of A500C class of 25 mm diameter and A240C class of 8 mm diameter for the construction of the crossover and modern two-level interchanges. By the end of February, over 200 tons of rolled metal is planned to have been supplied by the company.
After the reconstruction, the highway will become a full-scale four-lane highway of national significance, and it will be possible to drive from Dnipro to the capital of Ukraine much faster – just in five hours instead of the current seven. Total cost of the reconstruction of H-31 Dnipro-Tsarychanka-Kobelyaki-Reshetylovka highway is UAH17.7 billion. Construction completion is expected to be over in 2021.
Sergey Demchenko, Head of operation and technical department, Spetspodzeminzhstroy company: “Our company is the contractor for the installation of pile foundations (bearing posts) for the crossover construction, within the scope of this infrastructure project. Pile foundations, consisting of 56 bearing posts are reinforced with rebar cages of 267.7 tons total weight, which are manufactured directly at the site. The construction of the crossover will make it possible to relocate the highway outside the inhabited area (Chumaki village) that will ensure safety for the residents. This project will also increase the capacity of the highway section by increasing the number of lanes from two to four. We value our partnership with ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih and look forward to further cooperation while implementing critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine”. (AMKR/Ukrainian metal)
