Russia: chemical-metal enterprise in Irkutsk region to open in 2027

Technoaliance Invest, which will be developing the Zashikhinskoye rare earth metals deposit in Irkutsk region, intends to construct a chemical and metallurgical plant in the region by 2027.

The project will be carried out in 4 stages.

The plant will produce tantalum, niobium, ferroniobium oxides and zirconium concentrate.

The capacity of the plant will be 1.02 million tons of ore per year.

Zashikhinskoye deposit is the richest tantalum deposit in Russia. Its estimated reserves are 34.5 million tons of ore, which include some 105 thousand tons of niobium pentaoxide and 8.5 thousand tons of tantalum pentaoxide. (Ukrainian metal)
